LEE Cheuk Wun was born in 1992, Hong Kong. She graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. During her art studies, she couldn’t afford to be complacent but always tried to go further. She believes that art learning should go beyond the studio. In the summer of 2014, she worked as an intern at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. In 2015, she spent an exchange year at the University of Vienna studying art history. During her exchange year, she had the complete autonomy to plan her own art studies and she decided to be proactive. She sneaked into the ceramic and printmaking studio in the University of Applied Art to enjoy her art creation. We all see but not all of us observe. Through art, she has granted new ways not only to observe, but to feel and ponder my relationship with even the most delicate detail in my surroundings: be it vividness or stillness. She sees arts as a means of searching and rediscovering different facets of life. She opened up herself to all means of art. She spent a lot of effort in learning Chinese art before spending a year of artistic learning in Europe, hoping to go further and deeper in her pursuit of art. She has developed a deep interest in ceramic making. Clay impressed her by its power of transformation through the process of firing - just as how art has transformed her from an unsecured self to become a stronger individual.
