三生遺事

劉曼堃，畢業於香港中文大學藝術系，以中國水墨畫為創作方向。希望在學習傳統中國書畫的同時，探索繪畫這一過程的本質，解構並重組不同傳統中的圖像。作品將工筆畫中的線條元素單獨抽出，通過重複的動作構成新的形式，並以繪畫凝聚個人生命中的一段時間，揭示期間所有的動心起念，提煉「我」至一個面向，一種形式。LIU Mankun, graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Working primarily on Chinese ink paintings, she searches for the essence of painting as a creative process by the deconstruction and rebuilding of images from various systems while continuously learning from traditional Chinese art. In this series, she extracts specific visual element in Chinese fine line paintings from its original context and reconstructs the semi-abstract form through repetitive movements of the hand which resembles religious rituals. The time devoted to the work as a segment of life is thus embodied in the painting, revealing thoughts and emotions of the painter; and the ‘self’ is accordingly simplifies to one form, one aspect and one unity.
