The painting is a response to the demolition of the Poncol Market, a traditional market surrounded by Dutch colonial buildings, in Pasuruan. The market was demolished to build a mall.
* The figure in the painting is my late father and I made painted this several months before he passed away. He lived near the Poncol Market his whole life.
