巴尔干半岛上散落的纪念碑是为了纪念一个事件或者一些人而被建造，就像一面插在时间线上的小旗，这是人为制造的时间停止。时间过去，人们不再记得那些看不见的东西，可见的就只剩这一面小旗；但它纪念的是什么事件，是哪个国家哪个领袖所建造的都已经不重要了，因为那个国家那个领袖已经完全不存在了，而最后这些纪念碑则终究会成为自然的一部分。

The spomeniks (monuments) scattered on the Balkans were built to commemorate a specific incident or some people, like flags inserted on the timeline. They were symbols of “pause”. And time passed, people no longer remember the things that are invisible except the flag. But those incidents, countries and leaders are no longer important because the countries and the leaders no longer exist. And the spomeniks will be part of nature eventually.
