上善若水，任方圆；
On the good such as water, any radius;
方，是棱角的模样—— 一身逆浪，傲骨嶙峋，方不负为人尊严；
Square, is the shape of edges and corners -- a body against the waves, proud, not craggy, not human dignity;
圆，是保护的姿态—— 八面玲珑、海纳百川，才不泥人心险峻。
Round, is the attitude of protection -- long, open to all kinds of rivers, not mud people steep.
上善之所以若水，恰因 水可方，一如冰刃破风斩尘，寒光毕露；
The reason why goodness is like water is that water can be square, just like the ice blade breaking the wind and cutting the dust, exposing the cold light.
亦可圆，一如细水涓涓长流，浣纱采莲。
Can also be round, as the trickle of water, washing silk pick lotus.
