失喪與尋回：被遺忘單車的重生1

羅月眉 香港藝術學院主修攝影我以殘破單車作為這輯作品的主角，是為了悼念消費主義下的浪費，以及反映當下生活的浪費文化，更藉此對消費主義作出批判。 在後現代文化中，消費似是基本的生活模式。想要，便買；買了，便忘記！我在沙田的路旁常看見被遺棄的單車，車主不再理會它們。它們被成為喪失的、被遺忘的！這輯作品共有六幅相片及一殘破單車裝置，藉此表達我對殘破單車惋惜之情；希望這作品引領觀者去觀看及經歷：被忽乏略的， 被看見；被遺忘的， 被紀念。LO Yuet Mei Hong Kong Art School major in Photography I used the broken bicycles as the subject for my series of work not only to mourn for the waste of capitalism, but also as a reflection on the culture of waste and a critique of capitalism. In post-modern culture, consumption seems to be the mode of living! We want it, we buy it and we forget it. I always see discarded bicycles left on the roadside in Shatin. The owners do not care about them and will just buy new one if they want to cycle again. When things become old, broken or with some missing parts, we will just buy another one or simply throw them away. They are always being lost and forgotten.This series of work includes 6 portraits and a real discarded bicycle installation. The portraits of the broken bicycle parts show my concern and respect for them, inviting viewers to have a closer look, and to pay tribute. The installation with a photo slide show is to further enhance the concept of mourning and to create a stronger impact in the hope that the unseen shall become seen and indeed not forgotten, but remembered.
